Re: Chris's non-kite hobbies

Wow! That's incredible.

In Chicago, I had a guy try to fly my rev while on a Segway. He couldn't do it, you need a spare hand to operate the Segway. So I guess I'll never get a Segway. :-D
Either that or I have to learn to fly like Ken (one-handed).

Re: New Features

You've been busy Babbman, very cool and user friendly to boot. (I meant the feature was cool and user friendly. Well actually, you are too, so I guess I mean both feature and you :-D ) As long as your playing, something on my wish list would be a way to see all the posts from the last hour, 2 hours,...

The sail kayaking thing looks like fun. I used to do some whitewater kayaking as well as quiet river stuff with the kids, but found that I spent more time driving than time on the river.

Re: COOLNESS

many years ago, I was flying a big old dual line and was pulled across a muddy field on my belly. I didn't want to lose the kite! Rose was little girl then, and just split a gut laughing, watching me sliding thru the mud. My clothes were soaked with mud all the way thru to my skin when I walked up t...

or in my case, I tend to leave words out when typing. They are in my head but not on the page. Maybe if I had a USB port in my forehead that I could connect to the PC or something. Actually, probably blue-tooth would better as wireless would be easier. But, oh man, with wireless I'd have to worry ab...

My daughter used to love being pulled down the field.
I actually had football shoes with cleats when I first was learning to control a 6 stack without being pulled away.
I'm more of a contol guy than butt surfer :-) I would like to buggy some day though.

Re: Great Lakes Kite Festival

that's great. Some of the power kiters get there on Thursday, the day before the actual festival is supposed to start. Last I heard, Ben from Revolution was planning on bringing a buggy and showing up early. During the festival it's kind of crowded for any power kiting except for surfing out on the ...

all the new features are an improvement, thanks babbman. Well, with the exception of the "similar topics". I haven't found it useful and think it might be marginally confusing to newbies. What do the rest of you think?

A big welcome to you from me as well. All the way from Tennesee!
We'll have to find a regional festival (or make one of our own) so we can meet our far flung members!

Re: * CLEAR RIPSTOP *

The transparent material used in kites is mylar. It's not cheap though Hector. You can find it at KiteBuilder and at Hang-em High fabrics At hang-em high, she calls it "clear film". Look at Cobra or TriSpi films on the hang-em high page. These materials are used in sail boat sails, just li...

Yeah, well, since we don't have cable, there's nothing on TV and I have to be productive in some other way. :-)
