Re: Losing my flying field

LOL -yeah, sorry ... Thread Jack. :)

Anyhow, do you know what the layout of the baseball fields is going to be? Depending on how they do it, it might not be that bad... wishful thinking, I'm sure... :-/

Re: Losing my flying field

Dude . . . satellite view! I waste plenty of time looking for potential flying fields (apparently even in Papenburg!). LOL, yeah, I already researched Papenburg, but that was BEFORE I found out about the 6 month long festival! :) I was eyeing this spot here which is near the ship yard and up on a b...

Re: Losing my flying field

Yeah, but then you need an indoor facility, and I haven't found one yet. Be happy to let you fly my indoor if you can find a place . . . Local, not in Papenburg ;-) What about walking to the Volkspark? Ohhhh, good find I didn't notice that ... about a 1.2 mile walk from the hotel we stay at too ......

Re: Losing my flying field

If it's any consolation, the field I was looking forward to flying at during one of my trips to Germany is being used to host some 6 month long festival and costs €15 to get in.

Maybe it's time to buy an indoor Rev...

Just drove by... You weren't kidding.

Well, that sucks. Maybe we need to see if Richy Rich likes kites and will sponsor a Sugar Grove kite flying field. :)

Re: Losing my flying field

Well,my secret field next to the middle school is being turned into another sport/community park. It's such a shame because it was the perfect location. :( Oh well. I can go back to my fallback, but it's a little close to the airport (like across the street at the end of a runway). I will still be ...

Re: Local Club Fly Sat 4/19?

I'm thinking something like 1-3 pm, perhaps the sports fields in St. Charles. The field we went to last week is not ideal when the wind is from the east, which I think it might be right now. If it makes a difference to you Swannie and Tmadz, I could probably come out to Sugar Grove this week. That'...

Re: New York Minute - New Revolution Kite for Sale

Out of curiosity ... does anyone know what the history is and/or why they chose "New York Minute" to name these kites? Is it a reference to an Eagles song? A bad movie from 2004? Seems sort of an odd name for a kite... :)

I have ... but not often, I was curious what the difference is between them, I believe the Zen has more sail area?

Zen

I've seen a few Zens come up for sale recently, and it has me thinking about them again. I'd be curious to get some opinions ... I know it flys different then a 1.5, etc. but I'm interested to get some input on them from the group. :)

Re: It's my fault.

I cant take it any more!!! today I got the urge to fly so bad, I set up the 4D, stuck air mover fan next to me and flew in the Living room! It worked very well. Just enough room to do 1 spin within my 8 ft high ceiling. Let me tell you all. the wife was less than pleased and the cat left the room n...
