In the past, Mike has taken IKE gear orders before the retreat. Did we forget to do that this year? In person-delivery at the retreat saves on shipping charges!

Re: I KNOW--the forum has changed!

There's a "new posts" link under the "Quick Links" button at the top left. I'm not certain of its functionality, though. It MIGHT show you every post that's new since your last visit. Guess that's not quite the same as "unread."

Re: a Semi Annual Retreat?

Last year, 180GO! had a fest every weekend in April and May except for the first weekend of April. But early April can be dicey for weather. And the only reason :Logo180GO!: didn't have a fest the first weekend of April is that "Kites & MPX" in Cincy didn't have any sponsorship money!

Re: IKE Retreat, Sept 19, 2015

I wanted to say thanks to those that allowed me to pick up the handles on several different kites over the weekend. Had a chance to fly Steve's Rev I, Jynx's Polo, Mark's Rev II, Shari's Rev II as well as a quite a few others that I can't recall. That was fun. And the first time that I've felt comf...

Re: a Semi Annual Retreat?

I assume that some of the festival dates for next year are not firm yet. As well as the 180Go schedule. So we would probably have to wait a while before coming up with a weekend day. You might be right. I'm pretty sure April 30 is firm for Shipshewana (it's always the last Saturday in April) but I ...

FYI, Mike RSS is working fine. I use RSS to see posts in Outlook (which I'm always in during the work day).

Sure, unless you software change requires you to switch to a different app (e,g. Tapatalk).

Thanks for all the work, Mike. When you're finished, it would be nice to have mobile app support again, if possible.

Re: a Semi Annual Retreat?

I'm in favor. The Shipshewana, Ind. kite fest is always the last Saturday in April. That's April 30 in 2016. I'd want the retreat to avoid that weekend.

Re: IKE Retreat, Sept 19, 2015

What a great weekend with great friends, great weather and great flying! For anyone here who has not seen my Facebook posts, all my still photos from the retreat are in a public album here . I don't think you need a Facebook account to view the pics but I could be wrong about that. I'm certain that ...

Re: Aug 22 or 23 quick fly

The part I highlighted says "lawful" command. If that person's command is not lawful, then what? I guess that depends on whether you want to go to jail now and convince a judge later that the the command was unlawful, or go home now and try to convince the officer's boss later that the co...

Re: Aug 22 or 23 quick fly

Here's the specific ordinance for St. Charles Park District for future reference: It might be wise to attempt to get, in writing, and official statement as to whether the ordinance prohibits the flying of kites, when those kites do not carry any person. Assuming that the officials write that it doe...

Re: I had to get it, and it's broken already...

With dualies especially, if you aren't breaking them you aren't practicing enough! When I started with a Flying Wings Alpha+, I quickly found some online kite shops where I could order replacement spars of the correct diameter. Usually, they came longer than needed and I use a dremel tool to cut the...

Re: Rev flyers have a saying...

The young lady Mike was teaching really liked that she could flip it over when it landed upside down. Pulling one handle back to her pocket to flip it over, became "parking her handle in the pocket". Mike didn't say that to the reporter though, he just overheard it and made an assumption....

Re: IKE Retreat, Sept 19, 2015

Feel free to chime in with more info for the newbies. I'll be there. I've been promoting the event to others, as well. Catherine Piotrowski of Wisconsin Kiters seems pretty interested. For anyone reading this who hasn't attended before, it's my favorite kite event of the season. Very laid back, jus...
