Re: 2nd Annual IKE Retreat! Sept 29-30

Anyone have decent experience on Duals? I'm looking to pick up some tricks from a stunter. My learning curve is now a straight line. Not many stunters to hook up with in the midwest.

Re: 2nd Annual IKE Retreat! Sept 29-30

Fear not, I am planning on bring my Widow & Hypnotist in addition to my Revs,,, and Adventure Dog. :piratecap: David It's turning into a regular dual-fest! Maybe you guys can work out some kind of routine if time permits - that would be very cool. What length line do you need for Adventure Dog?...

Re: 2nd Annual IKE Retreat! Sept 29-30

I do think we are reaching enough dualies that I will have to sign up for the lessons. . I will be bringing the E2 that I picked up at Mots. Hoping I can learn something! And I will be willing to pick up the handles on a Rev. I think we have the beginnings of Detente. It's not quite as dramatic Beg...

I just ordered my Premier widow that Jon T modified into a light standard. Depending on the wind, I'll share with anyone who's interested.

Re: 2nd Annual IKE Retreat! Sept 29-30

Only a few weeks away. I'm getting excited to be at my first non-festival-like fly. I hope we get some good winds and lots of fliers. I've gone off the addiction deep end and have lots of new toys to play with. Heck, I may even fly the quads although there's almos t no chance of me buying a Rev. I'v...

Hey, sorry if I overreacted the other day in my reply here. I had a stressful day at work. I did pick up a used prism e2 at Mots so now I will be able to fly some dual line stuff with y'all.

None taken Steve. Sometimes I hate the 2 dimensionality of the written word.

Re: 2nd Annual IKE Retreat! Sept 29-30

Could probably be talked into trying someone's Rev., if they're brave enough! You bet, I have a couple "beater" revs for exactly this purpose. Any chance I can get some time on a beater dualie (but one that's better than my mass market dual line)? . . . brave . . . I'll just stand outside...

Re: 2nd Annual IKE Retreat! Sept 29-30

I'm about 75% in. I'm on the road for work for about 8 weeks so being gone for the whole weekend might be pushing it at home. I might just make the day trip Saturday or Sunday.

Yeah Baby! Let's make it visible form the Space Station.

Sorry. Got a little excited there.

I put it on the Prism forum too. I could use some dualie help. I know of two people specifically who live in the region.

Rain? At this point I'll do a dance for rain. I would gladly fly in a storm. Maybe I can get a powdered wig and do my best impression of Ben Franklin.

Re: 2nd Annual IKE Retreat!

I've gotten first dibs on that weekend on my calendar. Will we have any issues with taking a large swath of the beach to fly? Not that it's too crowded that time of year. Any restrictions on flying time or does the beach close at dusk? I'll be late on Saturday as my son will have a football game tha...

Re: Kite line weight selection

HI Swannie. I have a few SLK's and a Gomberg Super Sled (SS). Line is cheap insurance, especially if some of your kites get more expensive. Right now I only have some cheaper mass market kites, so the cost isn't that much, but I bought 250lb black Dacron line for my SS. Out here, since the wind can ...
