Second Club Fly

So when are doing the next fly?
If anyone is available on short notice, this Sunday looks good:
Sunday...Partly sunny. Highs in the mid 50s. South winds around 10 mph.
We wont be having weather that warm for long folks, so let's make the best of it while we can.

First Official Club Fly--Oct 28, 2006

Our first official club fly was way fun! According to the National Weather Service, the winds started out at 16, gusting to 26 and moved into the upper 20's with gusts up to 39mph. We flew vented Rev 1.5's on 90# x 120' lines, and the kites handled those winds with no problems. We felt those big gus...

Re: Kite Bag

My bag was more like this one by prism, with the pockets on both sides.

Turns out that kites sometimes start to slip out. The rev bag has pockets on one side only and a flap that you fold over the kites, right?
That would be better.

Re: Kite Bag

I made a roll-up bag for my SLKs a few years ago. It was pretty basic, I just laid out a big rectangle of $1 walmart cloth and sewed on sleeves/pockets and used a couple pieces of webbing with buckles to close it. Things I would do differently this time around would be to use heavier fabric and to m...

Re: homebuilt Rev

I'll put all 5 together at the next club fly. Three seems to be a sweet spot for me. They slow down and fly more like a stack with 5, with 3 it's closer to flying a single line with speed and dive stops that look good.

Re: Seasons

Well, let's get another club fly organized then!
You don't have to be there the whole day. We could make it on a Sunday up near you and you can join us after church if that works. :clubfly:

Ben said they were coming out with a new bag soon.
I'd have to see a Rev bag up close, I've never looked at like I was going to make one...

Re: [Google Video] Rev Shockwave Action

That's pretty wild. At our next club fly, besides setting up the 1.5s with 120' lines, we should also set up all our 4-downspar kites with another set of handles and lines for folks to go over and play with when they get tired of doing the group stuff. Amongst us we have the Blast, Super Blast (2-4)...

homebuilt Rev

I've flown a stack of Revs smaller than Rev II's and they were really twitchy, but blindingly fast. They were on short lines, maybe 30', and the wind was strong, so that was part of the deal. The standard Rev II has a 74" (I'm pretty sure) LE. I don't remember the length of the the mini Revs, bu...

This is a good group fly, done by the Canadian members of iQuad. That's why they call it ehQuad. Canadians, eh?

Re: Bookmarking The Forum--saving As A Favorite

By the way, I'm still getting this error after I post, even though the post goes thru:

Could not connect to smtp host : 0 : Success

DEBUG MODE

Line : 113
File : smtp.php

Is it in fact, not an error, just that you are running in debug mode?

I don't think you'd miss the remarks, it's just the opposite, you would make sure that you didn't miss any sarcatistic remarks that have been made since the last time you logged on.
