Re: Kite Flying in Charleston, SC

It's true, flying on an ocean beach is the best. After flying in the midwest, you feel like your skills have really improved when you're flying on coastal smooth winds.

Re: How do you wind your lines?

haha. Don't worry TMadz, as Steve said, just getting some discussion going. Before I joined iQuad, I mostly wrapped the lines around my handles and didn't use a winder much of the time. This was with 75' lines. When I did use a winder, figure 8 was faster for me than straight winding. Then when I go...

Re: How do you wind your lines?

I used to figure 8; then when I was on iQuad they wanted them straight; but I've gone back to figure 8.

How do you wind your lines?

The forum has been quiet, so....

How do you wind your quad-lines?
I've seen folks use 2 winders, one for the left pair and one for the right pair.
Some folks wind them figure-8 style, some straight.

What do you do?

Re: I KNOW--the forum has changed!

My regular conduit to the forum wasn't working, Forum Runner. I figured it was just a temporary glitch, but it never came back. I see there was a lot more done... Yup! Until Forum Runner upgrades, you'll have to use Tapatalk. The new forum is "responsive" (in designer-speak) and works wel...

Re: I KNOW--the forum has changed!

I've increased the size of the fonts and line spacing on the forum index pages. And divided the rows a little differently. I think it's a little clearer and easier to read.
Turned more things red, and dropped some more ugly icons...

Let me know if there's anything else we need.

Re: I KNOW--the forum has changed!

Hey Mike, thanks for the update to the forum ... lots of work I know. Here's a few of thoughts: 1) I'm on a kite forum that does auto-resizing of photos ... since it's much easier for folks to post photos it seems like there are more posted! Which is a good thing. 2) Hosting your photos on another ...

Good info, thanks Jeepster. Good for you for asking Crayola first, and good for them for not giving you trouble (after all, it's free advertising for them anyway).

Max photos per post used to be six if I recall.

Bill

It's still 6 for now.

Re: I KNOW--the forum has changed!

The modifications I did to the old forum for the calendar aren't compatible with the upgraded forum software. I did add a link to the regular IKE Google calendar and Google maps to the bottom of the Quick Links menu. I don't have an answer to the email/link to post thing. I'm not sure there's much I...

I wouldn't worry too much about copyright. I've seen plenty of home made kites with various characters on them. Maybe if you start selling Dragonball kites for a profit...
