Re: Consignment Stuff

I need to work at getting one of the brand new Opera Mask kites on consignment, and then forget to try and sell it.

Re: 2 More Great Illinois Events To Come DeKalb & Chic

Dekalb only, I will be at the AKA convention during Mayor Daley's. That is assuming that I have survived being the Chairperson of the Elections committee during what is turning out to be the nastiest election I have ever seen in kiting.  Oh well, that should be offset by yet another w...

Re: Kite Planes

A cool RC aircraft, but not a kite. I have seen the same thing with an UL cellular kite, but then it ceased to be a kite and became an RC aircraft. As far as night flies, I have this vision of someone's line wrapped around the prop. It is somewhat protected, but I bet it could still tangle. It would...

I never heard back from the admin. If anyone else has access to the forum Q&A, maybe you could post it here? Odd, Chuck is usually very good about responding, he must be traveling. That's the poblem with these volnteers, they think they should have a life. It was already posted at Gon...

I am also at the same hotel, although I would probably have to strap you on the roof to get you back to the hotel. As you know, I travel light.

Re: Kites Over Lake Michigan

I was told where I was probably staying, but no confirmation yet.

Day three of the Dieppe festival today, one so-so flying far (ended in rain, packed the octopus wet) and one great day. Time to get moving for today, hopefully a dry day!

It was worth the 300 mile round trip  It's about time we did something near me! All those Chicago / Naperville / DeKalb etc fests are 300 milers for me. This one is only 30 minutes away! I feel for you, but I can't quite reach you. While I know I am lucky to be sponsored at Diep...

Re: Beginners Rev

Just make sure you can let go easily. I would not use a harness until you know what the kite can do. I used to fly a five meter Peel (an older Peter Lynn power kite) on dead man handles with a strap around my back, the handles would release the line if you let go of the handle. I would not want to b...

Stowing away in a compression sack could be hazardous to your health. :doc: :nurse:

This one has to go well now as I just turned down a ten day trip to Germany because I was committed for DeKalb. Lets hope for a great festival.

Re: IKE Family Picnic

I was planning on using the picnic to pack for Dieppe, so if the picnic moves to the airshow
I probably will just find a park to pull out the big kites and repack them. 100' ceilings are
unworkable for show kites and not worth the effort.

Somewhere in Illinois there is a place that sells one of these out sized burgers. The only person I every shared an office with that I could not stand, finished one. Re: *CANDY DROP KITES*

Candy drops use usually done with large lifter kites, not Revs. The problem with revs is lifting enough candy for a lot of children. If there are just a few kids a Rev works fine. Or if you have a lot of time for multiple drops. In the past I have used Roks and Foils to lift candy in buckets filled ...

Consignment Stuff

Hi! Some of you know that I carry a very small amount of consignment gear around with me. As the season winds down I will be getting ready to send it back where it will end up on the Gomberg Factory Outlet page at most 20% off. This year I have the Midsize Caterpillar, a Yellow Shark and will soon h...

Assuming that the layoffs at Lucent have not caught up with me, I will be attending the AKA convention (my 14th convention). However, I splurge at convention and do not share rooms. It is an expensive luxury, but it is only once a year.

Welcome James,

I too might be said to be hooked on Gomberg. My sponsorship deal officially calls me a Gomberg Associate (GomAss for short).

Hope to see you on the field soon.
