I was thinking about it, but unfortunately must be at the shop on Saturday. Might fly at Meinecke Park behind the house on Sunday if the weather stays good.

Re: Revolution reflex?

after speaking to David at TI he told me there is a small "spring" or some such thing that "reflexes" in light to no wind so that the sail basically flattens out and floats until wind becomes more apparent. Make sense? Actually, the opposite of what you said would make sense: so...

Sad to see you go. Best of luck and the greatest of winds in your new home.

You may be leaving physically, but that does not mean you must leave the forum. Stay in touch and tell us about your new flying fields.

Re: Revolution reflex?

I'm guessing a three-dimensional sail that will also shape-shift to a small extent to adjust for force variables in the wind. I've got a similar project underway, but Rev's design appears to be light years beyond what I'm doing.

Re: New York Minute Flutter?

I think tmadz had the issue with his kite. Maybe it was someone else. I have a vague recollection of someone trying a different frame (stiffer I think), and getting rid of the flutter. What frame do you have in yours? Did you swap it out? I have the original frame it came with in mine, green race, ...

New York Minute Flutter?

Many people on the KiteLife forum have mentioned a constant annoying flutter (buzz, vibration, hum) in the NYM sail on either one or both sides of the sail when flying at any speed. They say that they have tried, and failed to "tune" this buzz out of the sail with line and bungee adjustmen...

I don't have a weather permit  can I still fly a kite?

I believe Mike and Anne sell weather permits at Route 66 Kite, since they advertise (weather permitting).

Re: Saturday or Sunday Nov 14, 15 Fly?

He has about 6 hours on a 1.5 Rev, including today, which is why he was somewhat in control. Good hand-to-eye coordination puts him ahead of most beginners. Still trying to set the hook on this one. It was actually his idea to go fly on Sunday after I mentioned it to him on Saturday that a few of ou...

Thanks for the photos, Bill. You're the best!

It was fun flying with you guys today, Bill, David, Steve and my boss, Pavel the Newbie. I'm going to call him "newbie" for probably the next year or so. He won't like it, but he's a good sport.

There are now two more colors, Blush (red & pink), and Magenta (red & magenta), which look really good too.

I may have a ride if the newbie, my boss, who wants to use my PB2-4 to go snowboarding, decides to go. I will know around 10 a.m. and post up here, or give you a call.

Thank you.

Re: Kite Flying in Charleston, SC

Nice -- now that you've experienced ocean breezes, I guess you're both spoiled and will never fly in Illinois again. However, should you decide to move there, take me with you. All kidding aside -- good to see you flying somewhere with good wind. Feels good, doesn't it? So much easier to fly well wh...

Re: How do you wind your lines?

Neither way, eight or straight, puts any twists in your lines if the ends are anchored. Any twists that get into your lines come from how the line is handled at both the kite and the handle ends of the winding process. When you park the kite LE down you put a half-twist in the lines. How you hold an...
