Re: If you have an Android Phone or iPhone...

OK I picked up Forum Runner, when I searched for IKE, I got no results. Android device here, any tips?

OK, nevermind me. Searched for the exact url and found it at the bottom of a 42 result list. Seems a little silly but life goes on.

Re: Rejuvenating tired lines.

My lines aren't high quality I'm sure. I really have no idea what they are. I got a kite package deal, lines included, no mention of brand, quality, strength, etc. It was a 300 foot roll, so I did learn to make my own set. Went to the local fabric store and found some good braided cord, stripped the...

Re: What did you fly this week? 2011 - June 26 - July 2nd

Monday afternoon, I took an hour break from work, took the stairs to the roof of our building, and tried my luck at flying my no-name quad up there. I had high hopes of smooth, clean air. The roof is quite large as this is a pretty good sized factory. Once I stepped out into the sun, I noticed two p...

Re: Rejuvenating tired lines.

Good information, thanks. I have some cheap lines that never were very slick. (Four 360's and they're just about too bound up to recover) I'll try the wax to see if it makes them any better. Cheers! :revspin:

Re: Rejuvenating tired lines.

The OP says "There isn't anything in the spray that would hurt the lines." Does that mean some spray waxes contain something that will degrade the material? If I step in to the local auto-parts store and don't see either one of those, can you tell me what ingredients to avoid? Thanks!

Re: Columbus, Indiana - What's Up

One strategy I've heard other guys use: they buy all their kites in the same color so the spouse can't tell them apart and doesn't know how many he's bought. A better strategy though, is to get your wife hooked too. It's more fun to fly with two! or three! or four! or... Chris, once you get some ba...

Wow, you've got that right. We're talking now, and he's speaking my language :bash:
IKE, if you need a kite, don't order from anywhere until you talk to Big Mike at http://thekitesite.net/
Thanks again for the tip!

Re: Columbus, Indiana - What's Up

Welcome Chris. I may be willing to go to the dunes for some flying the weekend of the fourth. PM me, or post some more details and I will look into it and see if I can make it for a meet. Never flown at the dunes and always thought it would be a good place. Depending on wind direction, etc.... If I...

Re: Columbus, Indiana - What's Up

80 inch leading edge, 21 inches tall. A fair amount smaller than a 1.5. Maybe closer to a Rev II as far as sail size. If it has a brand name, I don't know it.

Re: Columbus, Indiana - What's Up

Hi Mike and Jeff, thanks for the welcome. I was here earlier this week to register and saw the issues. Glad they were worked out. I work IT support/helpdesk for my company so feel for the long hours that can go into getting life back to normal. My unfortunate distance from anyone that knows a kite c...

Columbus, Indiana - What's Up

Hi IKE My name is Chris, I'm in southern Indiana, and I love stunt kites! Recently got into quads and hoping to get into Revs as soon as possible. If you read this and you're near Columbus, IN - please reply or send a PM so we can chat. I'd love to meet other dual/quad pilots near me. :revspin: If a...
