Re: Nov 1st, Club Fly

I'm done flying for the rest of this year. We have a lot of scheduling/babysitrting issues and Jenny's dad and my mom are both experiencing cancer related issues. Fortunately, my sister is helping out with my mom. Unfortunately, Jenny and I seem to be the only ones who want to deal with her dad and ...

As much as I love Grinnell, the choice of driving 4 hrs vs driving 20 mins to help promote a local festival is really a no-brainer for me.

Re: 2009: Sept 4-5 - Kites Over Lake Michigan

The 75 foot lines really helped for light wind flying. Something to consider next time. Hey Ken do you think you'll ever get all that sand out of your car? Mine's a mess. It took me until last week to get the sand out of my car from the previous year..lol For really light wind flying, I have a set ...

Re: 2009: Sept 4-5 - Kites Over Lake Michigan

btw, the single funniest moment of the festival was the woman who left her tailgate open on her jeep in the parking lot. Ann talked about it a few mins later by saying it was a testament to the people of Two Rivers that nothing was gone from the jeep while it was open. If it were Chicago, the jeep w...

welcome Jim...

I spent a year flying in 2006 believing I was the only Rev flier in the Aurora Area... so I know the feeling.

A bunch of us should be at Dekalb... hopefully we'll see ya then..

Re: The Rev SUL bridle

I have them and quite honestly, the difference between 50's and 90's isn't worth the investment. Light wind flying is all about technique and almost nothing about wind speed, or lack of it... just ask the indoor guys... I personally think that shorter lines in low to no winds are the best investment...

And just think. In 1994, when I first touched the internet, the only browser we had was Mosaic... Until Netscape Navigator came along and it blew Mosaic out of the water... So how many people here remember gopher and finger? Going back a little further, I cut my online teeth with Compuserve in 1983,...

Re: The Rev SUL bridle

I bypassed the problem completely by putting a standard 1.5 bridle on my SUL. The weight savings of the spectra bridle really just isn't enough to worry about, quite honestly. A few 10's of an ounce with the winds we have in this area? lol... Plus, the spectra bridle seemed to wear out rather quickl...

I use both. Some sites I visit just don't like firefox... My preference is Firefox though and it's my default browser. I like the looks and speed of Chrome though. Just wish it was complete. One of my reasons for Firefox is that I use about 8 different computers and using xmarks addon, I never have ...

Re: Kiteboarding Locations And Regulations

I started with an Ozone LD 1.5... it was absolutely perfect for learning before I started flying my Revolutions. Not incredibly powerful, but in a stiff wind, it is easy to handle so your 2M would be an excellent choice for land flying... Dave is definitely in tune with what's going on in the area f...

Re: Kiteboarding Locations And Regulations

was wondering if anyone has tried a 9m waroo on land? I'm around 190lb and have close to no experience on land. Thanks Welcome... I fly a 3M Ozone Riot and I have to say that in a 10-12mph wind, that kite is more than I can handle and I'm about the same weight... Hopefully Kent will weigh in on thi...
