Revs On TV (well, A YouTube Clip From TV Anyway)

Here's the link. Not sure what Revs have to do with Freeman Dyson . . . but it gives the narrator something to do . . .

Re: Revolution 1.5

As a new Rev flyer myself, I can only add . . . . just keep practicing  . More than anything else, it takes time flying the Rev until you learn how to react automatically. I'm still crashing my rev into the ground with embarrassing frequency. However, everyone on the IKE forum has been very supp...

Re: Saturday, October 16 In Pontiac

Sunny, warm and windy in Illinois today . . . plus the chance to get to meet a whole bunch of you. It does not get much better on an October Saturday. It was nice to put faces with names (& avatars). My son and I had a great time today! Hope to get to fly again with the club soon.

Re: Saturday, October 16 In Pontiac

I'd love to have a chance to meet some club members and get some Rev lessons for myself and my son. I'll check with the wife and see what she says. Saturday is better for me / Sunday does not work.

thanks.

Re: Hello From Wheaton

And . . . . rev flying just got more expensive (and fun) for me. My son started on the rev last Friday . . . and he's already said they're more fun than his dual lines. Looks like I'll need some more kites . . . . http://www.ikeclub.org/Forums/posted_images/user_277_imag0064.jpg And the wind was pul...

Rev Shockwave - Repair Leading Edge?

I have a chance to buy a used Shockwave at a pretty good price (no lines), but the issue is there's a small cut in the leading edge fabric right where the kite is folded to go into the bag. I think from the (blurry) picture he sent, it might be about an inch long. Is this repairable with tape or sew...

Re: Hello From Wheaton

Rainbow stunters like these? http://img.auctiva.com/imgdata/1/1/7/7/1/1/9/webimg/405005920_o.jpg I had a stack of 'em. They were my first stunt kites too! It was good to meet you at DeKalb. Try to make it out the festival this weekend, it's your best bet to get some tips. I know it's a drive, but m...

Hello From Wheaton

Hello IKE! I just joined up after I saw the team at Dekalb. My 8yo son got me back into kiting after a *cough* 20+ year absence. Back in jr. high school, I bought a Rainbow two line stunt kite (anybody remember those?) and had a lot of fun with it, but somewhere along the way I forgot to "go fl...

Re: Quad Lines - Stretch

I'd love to be there, but my father is in town for the weekend, and my kids have too much stuff going on this weekend for me to get out to Davenport for a day.

Will you guys be at either the festival in Antioch on the 2nd or Glenview on the 9th (Chicago Kite is showing those on their web site)?

Re: Quad Lines - Stretch

Thanks for the tips. Glad to see we have a few spinal tap fans on the forum. My wife banned the movie from our house years ago because I could quote it almost verbatim. I'm out in the Wheaton area, if anyone is nearby. I could use some pointers, and . . . I just really need a bunch more flight time ...

Quad Lines - Stretch

So . . . . I'm brand new to revs and picked up a used SLE 1.5 with a line set a few weeks back. I have flown about three times now, but still have a lot to learn (and some dual line habits to un-learn). Here's my issue/question - I took the lines off the handles to measure them, and it seems that th...
