Good Luck!

Just wanted to wish everyone going to Nationals the best of everything. Safe travel, great winds, and top notch performances.

For those going in the more admistrative capacities also, know we're thinking of you too and hoping all the best also.

Looking foward to the reports!

Re: 2008 Festivals

What do you mean gunning for? Mots has been the weekend after Labor day and DeKalb 2 weeks after. Is the date for Mots08 correct? It's a good problem to have! To have so many festivals going on that we have to be selective. Truth is that there are contigencies, to take into consideration ,in each t...

Re: Patches

The logo I sent in for pricing has a white border with the words Illinois Kite Enthusiasts in it. I believe it's an offical IKE logo. Will check to confirm that before ordering. Also looked like the corners of the square are rounded, and that's something else I'll look into if we do this.

Patches

What about doing some patches?

www.stadriemblems.com just quoted me the following...

50-3" Embrodiered Patches with IKE logo on them $2.58 each (or $129.00 w/.06 ea added for heat seal backing for the lot). 50 was the first of the price breaks.

What think you, my friends?

Re: Suggestions For Kiters At Festivals

<chuckle> So if a kiter doens't turn in a bio, we could make up something? Like they'er escaped cons? Just kidding....maybe. Another thought, the media gravitated to the sound booth looking for interview leads. I know now why some orgs have professional media contacts to deal with th...

Re: IKE Team Name(s)

I like the names with Quad in them...the Rev names get a little tricky if anyone were ever to fly anything other then a rev. (someone revive Bman, he just fainted! )

Could use these quotes for a recorded alert to gather the quad flyers for a mega team.

Re: Suggestions For Kiters At Festivals

Ann Vondriska Brinnehl first brought up this same issue at last year's Perry Farm Kite Festival with Bob, Al, and myself (perhaps she was pointing a finger at everyone present - can't recall). Willing to betcha that I'm not the only one who's been sitting on his laurels since then! Sorry Ann!!!!!!!...

Re: DeKalb Kite Festival

Pardon me while I shift gear outa organizer mode and into just plain old kiter mode and gush a little.... Do you know that kiters are the greatest folks on earth? Man, alive they really ROCKed this town! They not only had a full day of stunt demo's and perfomances, but there was a surprise arrival o...

FESTIVAL SUGGESTIONS

A couple of suggestions for all kiters... index cards with info on the kites and kiters bio's would be helpful. These could be turned in at the sound booth at each festival and would be a *huge* help to anyone running a sound system. I know this takes some effort, and doing bio's of oneself isnt' ea...

Re: DeKalb Kite Festival

Yes, thank you for all everyone did yesterday. The festival was the talk of the town today. Everyone loved it!!! I can vouch that Jeff was the last kiter standing. He was there until sun started setting! It was a quiet peaceful end to the day to pack the last of the ripstop away, with a rev flying a...
