Re: MAKR 2008

Mrs Drachenschwanz and I got our confirmations also, the same day her sewing machine bit the dust. Speaking of sewing machines, I'm surprised JJ hasn't posted 8 X10 glossy pictures of the new love in his life! Ooof! Her machine is dead? She's welcome to use JJ's old one. JJ has a new-to-him Viking....

Re: Patches

Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you on this. I have the patches, the prices are listed above. PM me if you'd like to get some by mail, otherwise I have them in the kite bags and will have them at festivals.

Re: Oregon, IL Kite Festival

I know you said that none of your kite enthusiasts live near Oregon, so I’m hoping that a few might just like to come out for fun, even on a week night.

 Really?! Huh, 4 IKE members had dinner in Oregon last month. It's near us! :-)

Re: Winter Flying

Lots of tips and tricks fly around this time of year for staying warm outside in fridgid temps. Layering on the outside as well as the inside is a good idea. Eating fatty foods stokes the inner furnaces and helps keep energy levels up to deal with the cold. While butter and bacon are probably the be...

Re: DeKalb Kite Festival

Thank you so much Jeff! That looks great! The dates for the DeKalb Fest won't be set until April. Wish it were otherwise, but there's no way around it. '08 is a rock and hard spot for date choices with Fishers event and Nationals hitting so close together. Best I can say is make your commitments as ...

Re: Seven Sisters

That's a nice kite, Jim. I'd really like to talk to someone who's made one of these. Do you know how I can reach Ellen? Come to think of it...I may have her contact...if she's a member of the lady kitefliers?!

Re: Regional Director

Does the AKA have something describing the position?

Bob's done a good job, and Paul Fieber before him as RD's. Don't know beyond that cause we'd didn't belong to the AKA.

Patches have arrived! They're $3 each or 4 for $10.

I've collected some money already and will send those out in the mail. If anyone else would like them mailed pm me. Otherwise I'll have them with me at club events and festivals.
