Re: Dog Stake Rig

Well I finished the rig and tried it out. Other than scaring the hell out of myself multiple times, it worked really well. I had no problems with the pulleys, the line slides on them very well when going in opposite directions. The head follows and turns with the kite as designed. I am unsure if I w...

Re: Dog Stake Rig

You guys are right, no matter how the lines are situated they will rub against each other or the pulley. I am hoping to get the pulley polished and waxed to the point that there is very little friction between it and the lines. About the same as having a twist or two in the lines during normal flyin...

Re: Dog Stake Rig

Hi Hector, Thanks for the compliments, All the bearings are sealed and maintenance free. I plan on polishing the inside of the pulleys, and I am hoping they will be smooth enough to put two lines on each. I think with a polish and wax, the lines should slide. If I have to add two more pulleys, I can...

Dog Stake Rig

Just wanted to show off a dog stake rig I am in the process of making for a fellow flier, trading for a kite. This part will attach to a standard screw in stake. I still need to do some finishing, and make the part that attaches to the stake. The head will be removable with a pin. It will swivel to ...

Re: Trick & Track (T&T) Or Prism Quantum?

Lenny, If you are enjoying the kite thing as much as it sounds like, I would recommend working with a brick and mortar store for your kite needs. Not saying this fella who has been helping you out is a bad guy or anything. But a knowledgeable kite store owner is one of the best connections you can m...

Re: Two Rivers Fest.

The fest was a blast, the friends were better, and the indoor rev and me are now mortal enemies. All said, it was a great weekend. For once Shari came back looking more like a raccoon than me. Pics are on my facebook page. If you are not my fb friend send me a request. Mikey Devereaux, Kankakee Il. ...

Re: New 180GO! Team Kites

I like the asymmetrical as an individual kite. I think it looks very cool. But in the animations they don't have the pop the striped kites have.
If it was a personal kite i would pick the asymmetrical with the logo, but as a whole formation, the stripped kites look great.
I vote striped.

Re: New 180GO! Team Kites

Whatever the final kite turns out to look like, I find the two different base colors mesmerizing in the animations. Love the way they pair up then alternate. I cant leave this thread open on my computer, i just keep staring at the screen and completely forget what I was doing.

Re: New 180GO! Team Kites

It wouldn't be asymmetrical. It could be made with the standard 1.5 pattern. You wouldn't be able to tell the seam was there, the paint would lay right over the top of the seam. And the paint adds no weight. If you wanted to screen the logo on, then the seam would be a problem. The question is would...

Re: Hello From Valparaiso, IN

Hi Lenny, welcome to the club. I work in Lowell, if you have a place somewhere in between me and you that is a good flying location I would be happy to meet up with you some afternoon and fly with you. I could let you try one of my revs and get some more time on one. Just message me if you are inter...

Re: New 180GO! Team Kites

I was meaning triangle #4. So the left wing has the logo going up at an angle, in a white background. I don't have any tallent other than crayons to illustrate it.

Re: New 180GO! Team Kites

I like Cadguy's, but make the section in the middle of the white, white also. Then paint in the team logo in the white on both designs.

How about making a stencil and painting the team logo on one of the wings? I could get laser cut stencils made.
