Re: Saturday, October 16 In Pontiac

Mikey,

Is there a link for non-Facebook users to see the photos?

All others,

I thought I heard someone behind us say they were videotaping some of it. Anyone know who was recording it?

Nice job.

Looks like your flyer was happy. You were mentioned by name in one of his articles.

Re: Saturday, October 16 In Pontiac

Best :clubfly: club fly I've ever attended  Great friends, Great winds, Great temperature, Great newcomers. Flew from start to stop and didn't bother to break for lunch. Flew the most team I've ever flown and appreciated all the coaching. Played with threaded kites and learned how to launch with...

Re: Back To Building ! - Upcomming Group Builds

I'm up for a Rok. I need to have my own to do battle without Lady Rok. She's been good to me, but it is time to move on.

I'm fine with a kit or someone else providing fabric.

Weekend of 23rd and 24th is busy for me.

Re: QC - Family Fun & Kite Fest : Sept 25&26

Great festival two years running. Hats off (with or without cat) to James for a putting this all together. From a kiters perspective: Very nice hospitality. Nice, taped-off fields with plenty of room for demos and serious flyers. Parking near fields for kiters. From a visitor perspective: Plenty for...

Re: QC - Family Fun & Kite Fest : Sept 25&26

Some single-line fliers are afraid to show their face. Apparently this one is a recovering Rev-aholic http://www.ikeclub.org/Forums/posted_images/user_224_jeepster.jpg Let's hope he gets some help, or at least some gloves for handling the lines. :rotfl Edit: Forget to mention this photo courtesy of ...

Mad Hatters Attack Kite Fest

Here is proof that kiters are mad as Hatters

It also appears they have a tendency to lean to the left.

Thanks to Jim Foster for the detailed explanation of the grid setup and start-up. Made it easy to visualize. Thanks to Jynx for all the pictures and for wearing your IKE shirt in the photo. Congrats to both of you for SETTING A WORLD RECORD . Very cool! Jynx, No more "I can't fly, I'm blon...

Accepting PM

Lenny, If you want to accept Private Messages(PM) in the future, you can go to your Profile and then under Preferences (second on the left) and the click on yes for "Allow Users to Send Me Private Messages". It comes in handy for info and doesn't open you up to any spam. I still have info ...

Re: Trick & Track (T&T) Or Prism Quantum?

I know someone with a Wolf that I'm sure would let you try it. I tried to PM you, but your Profile is set to not accept PMs. If you change your profile, I'll send you his info. FYI Keep an eye out for Club Flys at Northerly Island. Great place to fly, not too far for you, and plenty of kites to try.

Re: New 180GO! Team Kites

OK, I'm not sure. I think I need to see them in motion to decide.

Mike (not Big Mike), is Flash easy to learn?

OK, Another variation on a theme reacting to Big Mike's comments. http://www.ikeclub.org/Forums/posted_images/user_224_rev_1_5_kite_sample_2_opp_tips.gif : A1 Does this keep them looking distinct from a distance, but not your ordinary Rev? Re: New 180GO! Team Kites

My vote is for symmetrical red/white and black/white. When I looked at the monitor from across the room, the differences were still noticeable and the kites seemed to show more motion. I think the alternating white and color causes a "flickering" that catches the eye more. Second palace is...

Now y'all can open the three long running animations in separate tabs on your browser by clicking on these links. Most web browsers let you right-click on a link and choose to open the link in a new tab. Mike, Very cool animations. I like the ability to do full screen. FYI Most browsers will open a...

Re: New 180GO! Team Kites

I agree with Mikey that the logo will be hard to see at a distance. Why not use just the lower white triangle (#3) for the logo? Still looks good up close.

Mike,

Awesome seeing the kites in motion. Thanks for quick response. Can you do the twin radar with the "arrow" kites?

Re: New 180GO! Team Kites

I wanted to see what the kites would look lilke in motion. I've never animated GIFs before, but found a program and gave it a try. Click on the the picture to see. Maybe Mike could take the Flash he did of a compound blender and insert a set of proposed kites. :-D :-D http://www.ikeclub.org/Forums/p...

Re: New 180GO! Team Kites

I'm also going to add one more kite to the team set. When we fly an odd number of kites, it might look cool to have the center kite be different since it usually does something different than the others, e.g weaving between the kites, spinning in the center. http://www.ikeclub.org/Forums/posted_ima...
