Re: New Flyer ~ Carol Stream, IL

Welcome to the Club! I too re-discovered kiting after a lotta years. In the '70s I was big into fighter kites and dragons. In the '90s I bought a gorgeous dragon as a gift for my daughter and the bug hit bigtime. While I fly mostly dual and quad, fighters are near and dear to my heart. They are inex...

That's a great looking kite!

I wonder if Red Bull has issues with other logos? Probably not on such a small scale, but I can see them micromanaging the kite color-schemes.

Re: 2008 Roseville- April 5 - Roseville, CA

What a nice day! The wind in Roseville is like a box of chocolates. [;)] Didn't matter. A good bunch of people to spend the day with. Bob, Dean and the whole SOHR* crew put on a great event. Their generosity is humbling. Mystery Ballet was a crap shoot. Some folks got no wind. Some got too much for ...

2008 Roseville- April 5 - Roseville, CA

This doesn't need to go into the Festivals area but it's so rare I get to go to something and this one should be fun. I thought it worth mentioning. Also, I'm jealous you all have so many activities. So, sort of a report from the Far West. The Roseville Festival has been going on the something like ...

Re: Cool New Feature At Google Mail

Google does something like this every year. Some better than others, but usually pretty funny. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google's_hoaxes A slew of 'em this year. :-D I agree, Google is cool. THE place to work around here, but they tend to like folks to work very long hours. They have every imagin...

Re: 10 Great Places Around The World To Go Fly A Kite

For a "vacation" festival it would be hard to top Long Beach. I've done the full week twice and it's great. Nice thing about a long fest is you can take time to do other things and not miss the parts of the fest that interest you most. M,T,W,TH I went off and flew half the day. F,S,S I was...

Re: Hackint0sh Build

Just kidding. There are a lot of Apple nuts around here though. What's really funny about the Apple thing is yesterday I got assigned to a job that involves managing about 1000 Macs and migrating them into a Windows Active Directory system. I haven't touched one professionally since 2000. Oh well, m...

Re: Hackint0sh Build

Can you believe they kept that '70s relic until the late '90s? Now Chris, if you wan't the true Apple Geek machine you should use the original logo: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/f/fa/Apple_first_logo.png It's a good thing they changed it... Hmmm... Why no thumbnail? Because it's a PNG im...

Re: Club Fly--Where, How, Why?

Our local comp league sends out at most two emails a month. One with a general "what's happening" and schedule. One that is a reminder of an upcoming event a few days or a week before. Works good. Of course, that's with generally only one club event per month. If we were doing something ev...
