Kites And 4th Of July Celebration?

I have been asked to think of ideas for adding family activities to the fourth of July celebration here in the Quad Cities. Of course my ideas all have to do with kites. One particular they are looking to do is to connect both sides of the river in some way. They already launch the fireworks from a ...

YMCA - Healthy Kids Day - April 17th

The Scott county family YMCA has a healthy Kids day on April 17th at the Davenport West branch and we have been invited to fly some demos and be a part of the event. Sounds like a small display for a couple hours while they have a variety of activities for kids and families. More details to come. If...

Re: 2010: Color The Wind. Clear Lake, Iowa. Saturday, Feb 20

Im glad the video turned out good! considering when shooting the action in the air I could not see the kites on the little screen. I knew they were there so i kept rolling... It was a great day for bei...

Re: Club Bol Build

TIME - you say????

Well 10am start time would allow me to leave about 6am for the drive with a bit of fudge.

Im working on a demo that will be in different stages so it will be easy to see whats happening next
so no matter what stage your at it should be a smooth process.

cheers

Re: Club Bol Build

weight of the fabric is not much of an issue. I have read where people have used hot air balloon nylon which is pretty heavy stuff and others have used scrap umbrellas. You could get really inspired and use plastic sheet like a garbage bag, but I would stear you towards either th .75 - 1.5oz ripstop...

Re: Club Bol Build

DEC 12 - Big Mike's Ranch. Directions to follow. MAKR bol - building using the width of the fabric will take about 3.5 yards (with some extra & depending on design) This will produce about an 8' bol (ill have to measure to be sure) I have read that it is easily scalable either bigger or smaller....

Re: Club Bol Build

the bol and fled are both good projects to start with, kind of like the roks we did. the bol is very forgiving about mistakes and such. Measure 100 times, cut 1, sew straight (ish), and have a seam ripper handy. A frosty beverage can make it more fun and more than 2 you may be suprised what you end ...

Re: Club Bol Build
