The aim of this research is to examine the trends of the studies that address the education-training dimension of creativity in Turkey. The research was conducted using a qualitative research pattern. The data was collected and analyzed through document analysis. In the analysis of the data, the thesis analysis form developed by the researchers was used. One hundred and forty-five graduate theses studied between and in the field of education, which were allowed access by their authors, constitute the study group of this research. of these works consist of graduate theses and 31 of them consist of doctoral theses. Yenilenen eğitim-öğretim programları, yöntem ve
tekniklerinde özellikle üstünde durulan hususlardan biri
öğrencilerin öğrenme stili farklılıklarıdır. Her öğrencinin
kendine ait daha iyi öğrendiği bir yöntem bulunmaktadır.
Fakat gerek sınıfların mevcudu gerekse bu öğrenme
stillerinin belirlenmesinde zaman engelinin bulunması,
bireysel öğrenme stillerini yeterince açığa çıkaramamaktadır.
Bu yüzden derslerde çeşitli materyallerin geliştirilmesi ve
kullanılması bu açığı kapatmak için ideal bir yöntemdir.
Hem bilinçli hem de bilinç dışı olarak öğrenciye pek çok
öğrenme imkanı sunmasıyla birlikte iyi birer kültür aktarıcısı
olan çizgi romanlar da kullanılabilecek etkili görsel ve işitsel
materyallerdir. Bu amaçla hazırlanmış olan ‘’Sadece Biriyim’’
adlı dijital çizgi roman çocuk haklarını ele almaktadır. Sosyal
bilgiler dersi 4., 5., ve 6. sınıf Birey ve Toplum, Etkin
Vatandaşlık gibi öğrenme alanları kazanımlarını öğrenciye
aktarabilecek bir materyal geliştirilmeye çalışılmıştır.
Özellikle evrensel bir konu olması ve erken yaşlarda bilinç
oluşturması için ‘’Çocuk Hakları Evrensel
Beyannamesi’nden’’ yararlanılarak çizgi roman materyali
geliştirilmiştir. Geliştirilen bu materyalin hazırlanmasında
Pixton isimli Web aracından faydalanılmıştır.
Hazırlanmış olan materyalin Sosyal bilgiler dersi öğretimine
katkıda bulunmasının yanı sıra yetişkinlerde çocuk
haklarına yönelik farkındalık oluşturması ve gelecekteki
benzer çalışmalara da yardımcı olması hedeflenmektedir

Yüz yüze eğitimle ilgili çağın gereklerine uygun birçok uygulama ve materyal geliştirilirken, ortaya çıkan salgın bu çalışmaların uzaktan eğitimle dijital platformlara taşınmasını gerekli kılmıştır. Uzaktan eğitim uzun zamandır bilinen ama çoğu kesim tarafından kullanılmaktan kaçınılan bir durumken yaşanan Covid pandemi dönemi ile birlikte mecburi bir süreç haline gelmiştir. Bu sürecin Z Kuşağı olarak adlandırılan yaş gurubunun okul dönemine denk gelmesi eğitim camiasının kendini her açıdan daha güncel hale getirmesinin gerekliliğini ortaya koymaktadır. Günümüz eğitiminin misyonu eleştirel düşünebilen, nüansları fark edebilen, araştıran, değişime ayak uydurabilen ve sahip olduğu bilgiyi farklı alan ve mecralarda kullanabilen bireyler yetiştirmektir. Revize edilen Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı (MEB) programlarında da dijital çağın gereklilikleri göz önüne alınarak planlamıştır. Bu bağlamda eğitimin her sahasında olduğu gibi sosyal bilgiler öğretiminde de birçok duyuya hitap eden ve deneyimlemeye olanak sağlayan öğretim süreci mühim yer tutmaktadır Sosyal bilgiler öğretim programı içerisinde yoğunlukta bulunan soyut kavramların öğretiminde görsel materyal kullanımı öğrenciyi güdülemektedir. Görsel materyallerden biri olan çizgi romanın kullanılması ise bazı olguların anlamlandırılmasına, kalıcı olmasına ve farklı perspektifinden analiz yapabilmeye olanak sağlamaktadır. Eğitimin her düzeyinde eğitimcilerin rahatlıkla başvurabileceği özgün bir materyal olan çizgi roman resim ve yazıyı bir uyum içerisinde sunmaktadır. Bu bağlamda sınıfta çizgi romanla ders anlatımı gerçekleştirilirse, çoklu öğrenme ortamı oluşturularak; çizgi romanın 5 duyuyu harekete geçirmesi sağlanacaktır. Özellikle çizgi roman aracılığıyla öğrenme konusunda bireye; motivasyon sağlama, duygularını doğru ifade edebilme, soyut konuları somutlaştırma gibi imkanlar sunmaktadır. Dünyada dokuzuncu sanat olarak kabul gören çizgi roman zamanın durağanlığını kırmaktadır. Çizgi romanın şimdi, gelecek ve geçmiş zamanı aynı anda sunup; bireylerin sentez gücüyle kendi öğrenmelerine yardımcı olup, öğrenmeyi daha kalıcı hale getirmektedir. Tüm bunların yanında dijital çağın gereklilikleri doğrultusunda artık çizgi romanlar sadece geleneksel basımla değil web ortamlarında ve programlar yoluyla da tasarlanabilmektedir. Bu çalışmada web araçlarından Pixton adlı siteden yararlanarak bir çizgi roman materyali geliştirilmeye çalışılmıştır. Geliştirilen materyal; sosyal bilgiler dersi 6.sınıf, etkin vatandaşlık öğrenme alanındaki yönetim şekilleri konusunda 67 panelden oluşmaktadır. Öğrencilerin deneyimleme fırsatı bulamadığı ve soyut olduğu bilinen yönetim şekilleri konusunda dijital ortamda eğitici çizgi roman materyali hazırlanmıştır. Araştırmanın amacı dijital çizgi roman tasarlanma sürecini nasıl inşa edildiği, ne tür yollar izlendiği, nelere dikkat edildiği gibi detayların ve de ortaya çıkan materyalin ilgililerle paylaşılmasıdır. Ayrıca hazırlanan eğitici çizgi roman materyalinin, ders ortamını zenginleştirmesi, öğrenciyi merkeze alarak aktif öğrenmeye imkan sağlaması ve de materyalin hem yüz yüze hem de uzaktan eğitimde kullanılabileceğini düşünülmektedir. Bu bakımdan her branştan eğitimciye ve de yapılacak benzer çalışmalara katkı sağlaması hedeflenmektedir.

The field of education has been experiencing significant changes today. While
many application and materials were being developed, the pandemic made the
transformation of them into digital World necessary. Distance education was
known but dis-preferred for a long time; however, it has become mandatory
with Covid pandemic. The school years of Generation Z and the time of
pandemic has overlapped, which revealed the necessity to freshen the field of
education in many terms. The mission of education today is to raise students
who can think critically, notice differences, adapt to changes, and use her/his
knowledge in different fields. Thus, the revised Turkish Ministry of Education
has updated the curriculum accordingly with the needs of digital age. In this
sense, learning processes addressing multiple senses and experience has a
fundemantal place in social studies education, too. The use of visuald while
learning abstract concepts in social studies education motivates students. The
use of comics, one of these visuals, helps students understand concepts,
analyze from different perspectives and permanent learning. Comics present
visuals and written message together and it can be used for any level of
education. As an original material, comics trigger five senses and create
multiple sensory learning environment. Comics create chances for studens such
as motivation, expressing feelings correctly, and objectifying abstract concepts.
Comics break the stability of time, and it is identified as the ninth art of the
World. Comics help permanency of learning by presenting the past, present
and the future together. Along with these, comics can be designed in digital
platforms. In this study, digital comics material was developed using Pixton,
one of the web tools. The material was developed for governing styles
subject in 6th grade, and it consists of 67 panels. The ‘governing styles’ subject
was chosen deliberately as students do not have the chance to objectify or
experience the content. The aim of this study is to share how digital comics
design is structured, which principles are used and which criteria is followed
with related shareholders. Also, it is hypothesized that the designed material
would enrich the learning environment, empower learning, activate the
students in the learning process, and be used through distance education
process. In this sense, the study aims to contibute educators from every field
and future studies.

Studying abroad is a unique experience including social and cultural practices and affects students' education, life styles, habits and identities. For a better insight about this unique experience, the experiences of students studying abroad need to be analyzed deeply. In this context, this study aims to understand the experiences of eight Turkish graduate students studying in the U.S. The study was designed as a qualitative study and phenomenology was used as a research method. The data of the study was obtained through semi-structured interviews conducted face-to-face by the researcher. All participants finished their undergraduate education in Turkey, and pursue their education in the U.S. with different scholarship and funds. The interviews were recorded with participant consent and the data was analyzed with content analysis technique. The findings reveal educational, social and cultural dimensions of studying abroad experience.

The aim of the study is to reveal the effect of digital comics material on students' academic success, their views on distance education, course and digital comics. In the study conducted during the academic year and the pandemic, digital comics material was created in the Pixton design program for the aim of the acquisition of “different management styles in terms of basic principles of democracy," in the learning area of active citizenship in the 6th grade Social Studies curriculum. It is known that the comic book, which has no time and place limits, provides easy and fast access to information, prepared within the framework of distance education, provides motivation to individuals and increases interest in the course in accordance with psycho-social development. The study was designed as a mixed method. The quantitative dimension of the research was designed as a single group experimental study and the prepared academic achievement test was applied before and after the study. In the qualitative dimension, phenomenology was applied and the data were collected through audio-recorded interviewing. The quantitative study group of the research consists of 10 students, and the qualitative phase consists of 5 students. The obtained data were analyzed through the statistical program in the quantitative phase and content analysis in the qualitative dimension. As a result of the research, it was concluded that the use of digital comics in distance education increases the success and helps to develop positive behaviors towards the course.

Her öğrenci farklı öğrenme stiline sahiptir ve bu nedenle öğretmenlerin ders anlatırken birden çok duyuya hitap etmeleri gerekmektedir. Bunu yapabilmenin kolay ve etkili yollarından biri ise derslerde çeşitli öğretim araç ve materyallerinden yararlanmaktır. Materyaller, doğru ve gerekli yerlerde kullanıldıklarında farklı duyulara hitap ederek çoklu öğrenme ortamı sağlarlar. Materyal geliştirmek ve geliştirilen aracı eğitim ortamlarında kullanmak öğrenmeye ciddi katkılar sağlamaktadır. Farklı türde bir materyal kullanımı hem öğrenci hem de öğretmen için yeni bir motivasyon kaynağıdır. Bu açıdan kullanılabilecek materyallerden birisi de çizgi romanlardır. Kendi tarihsel seyri içerisindezaman zaman iniş çıkışlar yaşasa da hala geniş bir okuyucu grubuna sahip olan çizgi romanların eğitimde bir materyal olarak kullanımı özellikle popüler olduğu ülkelerde oldukça yaygındır. Yazıyı ve görseli bir araya getirmesi, sanatsal gücü ve eğlenceli oluşu eğitimin bazı seviyelerinde tercih edilmesini sağlamıştır. Günümüzde sadece elle değil web üzerinden de çizgi roman oluşturma fırsatının olması özellikle eğitimcilerin işini kolaylaştırmış, kendi alanlarına ve hedefledikleri kazanıma göre ürünler çıkarma şansı vermiştir. Böylece hem daha hızlı hem de amaca uygun eğitici çizgi romanlar ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu araştırma için de Web ortamı üzerinde yer alan birçok farklı çizgi roman sitesinden birisi olan Pixton isimli tasarlama sitesi tercih edilmiştir. Çalışma kapsamında Sosyal Bilgiler 6.Sınıf Etkin Vatandaşlık öğrenme alanı; “Toplumsal hayatımızda demokrasinin önemini açıklar’’ kazanımı temele alınarak 32 kareden oluşan bir eğitici çizgi roman materyali tasarlanmıştır. Çalışmada bahsi geçen kazanımın yanı sıra “öğrencilerin çocuk haklarıyla ilgili farkındalıklarını artırmak” da ayrı bir kazanım olarak görülmüştür. Demokrasi gibi somut olmayan ve bu nedenle öğrenciler tarafından anlaşılması güç olabilecek bir kavramı ve onunla ilgili yine somut olmayan eşitlik, adalet, özgürlük, hoşgörü gibi değerleri öğrencilere aktarırken çizgi roman gibi görsel öğelerle bolca desteklenmiş ve somut bir materyalden yararlanma yoluna gidilmiştir. Ayrıca sözel konuların ağırlıklı olduğu Sosyal Bilgiler dersleri, günümüzde büyük oranda düz anlatım tekniğinin tekeline hapsolmuş durumdadır. Sosyal Bilgiler derslerini bu tekelden kurtarmak için derslerinde farklı yöntem ve tekniklerle birlikte farklı materyalleri de kullanan öğretmenlerin varlığı önem taşımaktadır. Bu doğrultuda, geliştirilen bumateryalin eğitim ortamlarında çizgi romanları kullanmak isteyen ya da kullanmakonusunda tereddüt yaşayan eğitimcilere bir referans kaynağı olabileceği düşünülmektedir.

The aim of this research is to examine the trends of the studies that address the education-training dimension of creativity in Turkey. The research was conducted using a qualitative research pattern. The data was collected and analyzed through document analysis. As a result of the research, it was observed that although studies addressing the educational-educational dimension of creativity have increased at a certain level over the years, they are not at the desired point and have not been studied adequately. In addition, it was determined that the studies carried out in terms of the discipline, the methods used and the variety of topics studied had similarities, that no studies on creativity were conducted in some departments, that the study group usually consists of a single level of education, that this situation does not allow to look at creativity from a broad perspective, and that there are many aspects of creativity that have not been studied for those who will work in the educational dimension.

Comic books are not only a type of reading material but also a useful educative source for various lessons. Based on this, this study aims to examine the effects of comic books on middle school students' motivation and academic success in social studies course. Quasi-experimental research design was used in the current study, in which 19 students were in experimental group and 20 students were in the control group. The data gathered by the motivation scale and the achievement test. The study lasted for three weeks in educational year. Findings revealed that students, who were taught by the comic book, in the experimental group, reached significantly better achievement score and higher motivation than their counterparts, who were taught in traditional classroom environment.

Çizgi romanlar sadece bir okuma metni değil aynı zamanda çeşitli dersler için faydalı bir eğitsel kaynaktır. Buna dayalı olarak çalışmanın amacı çizgi roman kullanımının ortaokul öğrencilerinin sosyal bilgiler dersindeki başarı ve motivasyonlarını incelemektir. Yarı-deneysel araştırma modelinin kullanıldığı çalışmada 19 öğrenci deney grubunda, 20 öğrenci ise kontrol grubunda yer almıştır. Veriler başarı testi ve motivasyon ölçeği kullanılarak toplanmıştır. yılı eğitim döneminde yapılan çalışma üç hafta sürmüştür. Elde edilen bulgulardan çıkan sonuçlara göre çizgi romanların kullanıldığı grup, geleneksel yaklaşım ile öğretim yapılan gruba göre daha yüksek başarı elde etmiş ve motivasyonlarının daha çok arttığı belirlenmiştir.

Bu çalışmanın amacı, Sosyal Bilgiler öğretmen adaylarının " vatan " kavramı ile ilgili algılarını, onların kullandıkları metaforlar aracılığıyla ortaya koymaktır. Çalışmaya Eğitim-Öğretim yılında İstanbul Yıldız Teknik Üniversitesi, Eğitim Fakültesi, Sosyal Bilgiler Öğretmenliği programında öğrenim gören gönüllü öğretmen adayı katılmıştır. Çalışmada izleyen sorulara cevaplar aranmıştır: 1) Sosyal Bilgiler öğretmen adayları " vatan " kavramına ilişkin sahip oldukları algıları nasıl anlamlandırmaktadırlar? 2) Sosyal Bilgiler öğretmen adaylarının demografik özelliklerinin, " Vatan " algıları üzerinde etkileri nasıldır? Araştırmanın verileri, sosyal bilgiler öğretmen adaylarının " Vatan.… gibidir, çünkü…. " cümlesini tamamlamasıyla elde edilmiştir. Çalışmada olgubilim deseni kullanılmış ve veriler içerik analiz tekniğiyle çözümlenmiştir. Araştırmanın sonucunda sosyal bilgiler öğretmen adayları " Vatan " kavramına ilişkin olarak toplam 51 adet geçerli metafor ileri sürmüşler ve bu metaforlar ortak özellikleri bakımından irdelenerek 4 farklı kavramsal kategori altında toplanmıştır. Araştırmaya katılan Sosyal Bilgiler dersi öğretmen adaylarının % 47'si vatanı; yaşamsal bir gereksinim olarak, % 28'i duygusal bir alan olarak, % 17'si kutsal bir yer olarak, % 8'i farklılıkları birleştiren bir yer olarak algılamıştır.

Abstract
The purpose of the present study is to reveal social sciences teacher candidates perceptions on the concept of "homeland” by
means of the metaphors they use. The study was participated by volunteer teacher candidates teaching within the
academic year in Social Sciences Education, Faculty of Education, Yildiz Technical University in Istanbul. Answers to the following
questions were sought in the study: (1) How do teacher candidates conceptualize their percetions of the concept
“homeland”? (2) How do demographic features of teacher candidates affect their perceptions of “homeland”? The
data of the study were obtained by having the participating social sciences teacher candidates fill in the sentence "Homeland is like
, because".Phenomenological design was used in the study and the obtained data were analyzed with content analysis. As a
result of the research, the candidates of Social Studies Teachers have submitted a total of 51 validmetaphorsregarding the concept of
"Homeland". These metaphors are grouped into 4 different conceptual categories by their common characteristics. The Social
Studies Teacher Candidates who participated in the survey perceived the homeland 47% as a vital necessity, 28% as an emotional
space, 17% as a place with a sacred value, and 8% as a place combining the differences.

Classroom culture knowledge is essential for researchers and educators as it gives important tips for learning environment and outcomes. Knowing the elements of classroom culture, it is easier to interpret the classroom practice and learning elements. With the rising importance of classroom culture in the last decade, the aim of this study was to explore differences and similarities about cultural elements of two classrooms from different educational levels: K, and Graduate. These classrooms were both in the United States of America, Indiana. With a description of the settings, participants, instruments, and procedures, the results are presented in the article signalling the different formations of K and graduate classrooms. The two classrooms shared culture of the same authority; however, K classroom was found to be more libertarian.

There is not a common attitude in a society for socio-scientific issues (SSI) such as whether to use nuclear power plants for energy production. Within this respect, the aim of the research is to examine pre-service science teachers’ and pre-service social studies teachers’ attitudes toward SSI and to reveal their views about setting up nuclear power plants in their country. The participant of research is pre-service teachers. Firstly, Attitudes toward Socio-scientific Issues Scale (ATSIS)
was implemented and then, focus group discussions were done with five students from each department separately so as to understand their views about nuclear power plants. Findings revealed that whereas
pre-service teachers are eager to learn more about SSI, they have anxiety about it due to religion, moral and ethical perspectives. In addition, whereas both groups of preservice teachers have some common views about nuclear power plants, pre-service science teachers do not have more positive views about having nuclear power plants in their country.

The rapidly changing technological developments have affected education as it does every other fields of human endeavor. The number of technology applications used in education increases every day. One of these tools is multimedia. In the studies about the use of multimedia in education, it has been reached that multimedia increases students' success, affects students' attitudes in the positive way and makes lessons more enjoyable and understandable. In this study, multimedia tools were used in social studies to contribute to the field. The study aims to outline the effect of multimedia on the academic success of social studies students. Experimental design was used in the study with two sections (both 4 th grade – Section I as the control group and Section II as the experimental group) used as the control and experimental study groups of this study. The sample of the study is 67 social studies 4 th grade students in Kayseri, Turkey. For data collection, an achievement test which was generated with experts' opinion and tried as pilot was used. The data from the achievement test was analyzed with SPSS program. At the end of the study, it has been concluded that multimedia technique increased the academic success of students in social studies lesson compared to the traditional classroom.

kavramının önemini öğretmenin ve bilincini vermenin en güzel ve etkili yolu ise eğitimdir. Eğitim
yoluyla bireyler istendik yönde davranış değişiklikleri gösterebilmektedirler. Eğitim ortamının önemli
araçlarından birisi ise ders kitaplarıdır. Turizm kavramı ders kitapları materyalinin içeriğinde doğru ve
etkili biçimde kullanılırsa yeni yetişen nesiller sektöre karşı daha duyarlı ve bilinçli bir bakış açısı
kazanabilirler. Bu çalışmada, Talim ve Terbiye kurulu tarafından eğitim öğretim yılı için onaylanmış
Türkiye’deki ortaokullarda okutulmakta olan Sosyal Bilgiler dersi beşinci sınıf ders kitaplarında yer
alan turizm olgusunun hem görsel hem de metinsel olarak ne kadar işlendiğini ve kullanıldığını
belirlemek amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden doküman analizi tekniğinden
faydalanılmıştır. İncelenen kaynaklar ortaokul beşinci sınıf seviyesinde kullanılmakta olan iki farklı
yayınevine ait sosyal bilgiler ders kitaplarıdır.
