Re: Your Job

I've been working for Nucor Steel here in Kankakee for almost 22 years as a crane operator. Nothing high-tech, but I do have a computer in my cab. :?

I'll be there Sunday. (I can't justify missing a fly in my backyard on a day off!) I'll see if I can locate Denny, too.

Might have to trade or call off, but I'm planning on being there. No solo demos (Ha!) but I'll be flying. Maybe with a quad mega-fly?

Re: Lets Try Again: Sun, Jan 27, 2007. Club Fly In Bourbonna

I REALLY WISH I could be a '180 Go!' guy, but my schedule doesn't allow me to commit. (Maybe I could train as an alternate???) I should be there sometime on the 27th...use me and/or abuse me as you see fit! <G> All I want to do is get my lines untangled from the last time I flew! I miss you 'old' gu...

Re: IKE Quad Team!

This is what I've been practicing FOR! Just have to see which flies I can make. It is SO much more fun (and beneficial!) to fly with somebody else rather than soloing. My skills increase exponentially when I fly with you guys. I REALLY want to do this kind of thing, but I only have my lowly EXP. I w...

Re: Father's Day At Perry Farms

I'll be there both days. It's a long drive, but I think I can do it. (four blocks!) I'll have my telescope there, too.

Dave, bring some Rev stack lines. If you have some SULs or vented at the tent, I may be tempted.

Re: *NEW DOG.STK. DESIGN*

Interesting concept, Hector. Bottom line is does it work? Seems like a lot of extra trouble, but if it makes the lines run with less resistance, might be worth it. I have a basic dog stake, but haven't used it much.

Looking forward to your experiences with this.

Re: January 27, 2007 Club Fly

Great fly, today! Nice member turnout, lots of new people, and great winds! (and no Po-lice!) I'm glad we got away with the location...much better area and conditions than Perry Farm. If we talk to the right people we might be able to make this a regular club fly site. It's always a treat to ...

Re: Perry Farm

Al, Didn't mean to cramp your schedule...I'm just 'brain-farting' here! I'm trying to save a worthwhile local event with whatever resources we have available. The Perry Farm Kite Fest means a lot to the 'locals', (but maybe I'm talking more about the astronomy club, of which I am the founding presid...

Re: Perry Farm

Another thought...

If we were to get some PR from the Journal or the Country Market papers after the event, (an article or just some photos) it might make the Park District reconsider the annual Kite Festival's importance in their line-up.

Re: Perry Farm

Hear me out...this is a little radical, but then again, what is this club all about???... How about a 'Club Fly' in May or June...but on steroids ?!!! With a little PR from the local press, (Denny and I know some people) maybe some posters, word-of-mouth, etc., we could just 'meet' at Perry Farm for...

Sheyala,

Welcome to IKE from Bradley! Looking forward to meeting you this month. I've got a Nexus and a couple of WindDance foils that I might break out at the club fly.
