Re: Very Sad News: David Kovacs

So sad. Too young. We were fortunate to be able to spend some kite time with David. Big loss to our kite family.

Happy Birthday Mike!!!!

Oh, I know I'm a little early, but we'll be out of the country on April 25th, perhaps without communication.

Re: Team Flying Clinic?

I would encourage all interested to take Mike up on his offer. Lynn and I have been flying as a pairs team as well as with Cass and Carol Pittman as a four team for several years. We all attended the team boot camp held a couple of years age by John Barresi. I think each of us came away learning som...

Re: Higher Wind Rev Advice Wanted

You may want to give your sky shark spars a light coat of clear spray paint. Some have a good clear coat, some may not. If not, black carbon will get on your hands and your kite. We have many skyshark spars we have purchased over the years and have found this to be true. I would also say that we hav...

We put six Revs in a baseball bat bag and put them in the overhead of four planes, two large and two small.

Re: WSIKF 2013: August 19-25, 2013

. BTW, where do you park during the festival? There is a lot between town and the beach. There will be signs directing you to it, get there before 9am, it does fill up. Parking passes are available to fliers allowing parking at the beach, however, that area fills up by 7am, is closed at 9am, and yo...

Re: WSIKF 2013: August 19-25, 2013

Lynn and I have been here in Long Beach Washington since July 27th. We have had rain several times, but only at night. The past few days have been clear with plenty of sunshine and nice wind. We have flown SULs, standard sails, vented sails and Xtra vents, although full vents would have been OK. We ...

Do you have a red shirt in your travel bag??? That will work too! A Red Row will be fun!!! No red shirts. Also, we are already committed to the fifth column. It's made up of some east coasters and some west coasters. There will be lots of time for us all to get together in lines and grids. This sho...

Re: Kite Party 2013 - March 9-10 - Huntington Beach

We worked Mike hard, and he did great, leading us all a good part of the afternoon. Great start to the party.

After rain and crazy wind in the morning, the afternoon brought sun and nice flying.

Dave set up a Kite Party cam here:

More tomorrow.

Re: Kite Party 2013 - March 9-10 - Huntington Beach

Lynn and I flew at Huntington this afternoon. Wind was a little low, but just fine for suls. We were able to do anything we wanted for nearly two hours. Supposed to get a little rain in the next few days, but should be very little, and over by the weekend. Wind is predicted to be good during KP. We ...

Re: Pfaff 2042

We use Pfaff as well. Not familiar with the 2042. We have a 1473 and a 1475. Older machines, but very reliable. Looks like yours may have a built in "walking foot", also called "double feed". That is good for kites as the material is so thin and so slippery. On short runs it does...
