Re: March 24th Club Fly

I'll be there at some point!

I was worried I'd have to work, but it's pretty close to the office so I can skip out early/go in later and still come play. Woop!

Re: Maps

I added my two favorites from down south even though I don't live there anymore. Maybe someone else can make use of them!

Re: What's The Difference?

*chuckles* Right, but none of the BBcode works for me. Take a look - I broke it again simply by editing. It's acting as if I have BBCode disabled in my posts, but that's not the case unless it's in my forum prefrences somewhere. Sure enough, it was disabled in my control panel. Apparent...

Re: What's The Difference?

I'll let the fanatics go into more detail ;), but basically - with the four lines, you have an amazing amount of control. A quad kite can stop dead in midair, fly backwards, etc. I had a chance to fly one in January, and it was a startling change from the dual kites I'm used to. Good stuff, though. ...

Re: IKE Eddy Arch

Lovely kites, the arch looks amazing agains that winter sky. You guys are dedicated. :D Going to work was cold enough for me! Definately would be a good time to break out those pocket size hand and foot warmers, did you take any? Still have your nose? How about all your fingers? *grin* Babbman, thin...

Re: Hello From Chicago!

*snickers* Sounds painful! Quad folk - I have nothing against quad line kites in theory, but I do think that the stunt kites are far more attractive. It's all about the sharp tips and sweeping edges. :) Babbman, I'll try to get out there one day soon. My lunch hour is 45 min (11:30 - 12:15), so ther...

Re: January Club Fly--when?

Hey, that's a lot closer then I thought it was! Only an hour away, plus traffic. Sounds great and the directions seem straightfoward. :) Looking foward to it!

Re: Hello From Chicago!

Thanks for the friendly replies! Babbman, I actually work in Lombard, so I'm used to the drive. It would be a haul from home, you're right. ;) What's in Lisle? Maybe I can get some flying time in after work and let the traffic settle. (Hah!) I really miss it. I'll be sure to stop in and talk to Dave...

Hello From Chicago!

Hello! I've been flying stunt kites for about 5 years now on a rather casual, solitary basis. I've never met another kite flyer, believe it or not! My attempts to find people in the areas I've lived never really worked out, so I've just been doing my own thing. It's always a great way to relax. :) I...
