Re: New Kites

Hi Burton31, Welcome to the great passion of kites. My first dual line was an Addiction. Man, did that kite take a lickin' and kept on tickin'. I have had to replace the spine once and the nosing a couple of times. It is a very fast kite. It does some tricks, at least the few that I know. Enjoy, JJ

Roxy,

Did you get your Rev in the air? I saw you getting your lines out, but was on the run.

Re: Oswego

Mike,

Are you sure that is the field? We have been down there in the past and the field we flew on was on the other side of Plainfield Rd. (to the south west). There is very little parking there, in the past we were able to drive on the field and park near the creek.

Re: MAKR

Hey all,

I just remembered that we had a surpise attendee at MAKR this year. It was Ken McNeil from Blue Moon Kites. He is orginally from Rockford. It was very cool to get to talk to him.

Just thought I would pass this along,

Re: Basic Questions

Hey Shane, Yes, single line kites are manuverable. On Rokkakus kite the most of the bow is taken out of the kite and makes it very unstable. When the kite leans in the direction you want the kite to go you start to pull on the line. if you give it some slack it will be unstable again and you pull wh...

Re: Babbman - Tetrahedron - 10 Cell

Nice kite Babbman.

This is the first kite that I made. I made it from RSN from Jo-Ann's. I used 1/4" dowels and it takes at least a 12 MPH wind to get it off the ground.

 I thought for a second we had another whiplash kitemaker on our hands!

I think the build plans mention using a three point handle flying option. I'm not going to dig into that, you multiline nuts are welcome to knock yourselves out. :)
