The last six miles northwest of town is unpaved, and the rain continues, turning the road to puddles and mud. When we arrived at the campsite there was a tent set up for us as well as a dining dome tent where they served dinner and breakfast. And if you can find a few big rocks to put in the road, use them too. While these cuevas the private exchange houses are technically illegal, the government largely seems to turn a blind eye. I stopped about halfway to Punta Arenas in Tehuelche for a cup of coffee to warm up.
