So do they know the date yet, I've been flying my big single line kites at Centennial park for years and have been awaiting the opening of Southwind. But My free fall dates are few.

Re: June 19 -Summer Sol-a-Bration @Nathan Manilow Sculpture

At present we plan on going and will fly what the wind and space will allow. But we will keep a close eye on the weather. Been rained out to many times already this year. We can't make the Sunday rain date. Any one else planning on going?

Is there room to fly any big single line stuff there? The google pics shows a large area under construction, is that part of the park? what's there now?

Re: Hey Whats This, You Say???

Somer park had there first fly back in 99 or or maybe 2000. The fields are big but are surround by dense trees. There's just no wind. We went 3 maybe 4 years finally gave up. Real small single line kites are fine as you can run or do a real long long line launch and get the kite above the tree line ...

A big foil can be a handful to sew, I've built many. If any one has questions on just how to start the sewing or what ever, just ask. Lets get them flyin.

Ann and I plan on going this year. Looks like a nice big field to fly in. Will they have a area roped off for the big kites?

Ann and I plan on being there if the weather is ok. We will bring the big Jordan and big parafoil with its spinsock, that should stop some traffic. Will fly what the field and winds permit.

Only a hour or so drive for me. We could put up a few single line's. The car lot location might be the best location to attract future members.
